Biological and Immunological Studies of Listerella.

چکیده

Preliminary notes published from this laboratory in the past (Morris and Julianelle, 1935; Julianelle and Pons, 1939a, b; Pons and Julianelle, 1939; and Julianelle, 1940) have dealt summarily with different aspects of the biological and immunological characteristics of the genus Listerella. The data now available after several years of intermittent study bring this phase of the work to a stage of completion, and it is desirable, therefore, to consolidate the information acquired into a single communication containing in extenso both the observations preliminarily reported upon, and the results of certain experiments hitherto unpublished.

Biological and Immunological Reactions in Parasitic Diseases

Processed antigen reacts selectively with lymphocytes bearing .appropriate surface immunoglobulin molecules resulting in the clonal proliferation of these cells, producing circulating immunoglobulin (humoral immunity) or non-circulating immunoglobulins (cellular immunity).  High levels of circulating immunoglobulins (lgM & lgG) occur in protozoa and helminths infections. Reaginic antibodies a...

Evaluation of biochemical differences and Immunological effects of LPS and Lipid A extracted from Brucella strains

Background: The intrinsic heterogeneity determination in Brucella Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is important for explaining its chemicalnature and biological behavior. This is significant for practical purposes, since LPS is the most relevant antigen during infectionand vaccination. Objectives: The purpose of the present study was to compare biochemical and immunological differences of LPS and lipid ...

Studies on the Listerella Group: I. Biochemical and Hemolytic Reactions.

Although the organisms now known as Listerella were first reported as a new species by Murray, Webb and Schwann (1926), and were given the genus name by Pirie (1927), earlier reports contain descriptions which indicate that the organisms were seen prior to 1926. Atkinson (1917) noted a gram-positive diphtheroid organism in five human cases of what was thought to be epidemic cerebrospinal mening...

Comparative Study of Immunological and Structural Properties of Two Recombinant Vaccine Candidates against Botulinum Neurotoxin Type E

Background: Recently, botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT)-derived recombinant proteins have been suggested as potential botulism vaccines. Here, with concentrating on BoNT type E (BoNT/E), we studied two of these binding domain-based recombinant proteins: a multivalent chimer protein, which is composed of BoNT serotypes A, B and E binding subdomains, and a monovalent recombinant protein, which contains...
